Abandoned Property Notice

State of Maine law requires that we turn over to the State any monies in accounts that haven’t had a transaction performed in three years.  The State doesn’t permit us to consider the posting of dividends or check cashing as a transaction. 

If you haven’t performed a transaction on your account since June 2014, then your account is subject to being turned over to the State in November.  If coming into the Credit Union to perform a transaction isn’t an option for you, here are some other ways you can update the last transaction date on your account to keep us from having to turn over your money to the State of Maine:

·         Perform a transaction on your account at a shared branching credit union.  All you need to do is deposit or withdraw a penny.  Go to this link:  https://www.centralmainecu.com/interior.php/pid/7/sid/36   to learn how to find a shared branch location.

·         Mail us a check to deposit.  The Credit Union mailing address is P.O. Box 1746, Lewiston, Maine 04241-1746.
